The PINEMAP Undergraduate Fellowship Program partners undergraduate students with PINEMAP graduate student or staff mentors to provide a hands-on summer research experience followed by a fall outreach program.
Undergraduate students will be provided the opportunity to work during a summer internship with a researcher in one of the following disciplines: field ecology and silviculture, modeling, genetics, economics and policy, education, or extension. Interns will enroll in a fall distance education course in communication and science education to work with classmates and graduate mentors to develop engaging lessons for secondary school life science, biology, or social studies classes. Interns will visit classrooms in their communities to present these interactive lessons.
