Announcements

June 9, 2015: Khori Battle and Sabine Grunwald had a demonstration table set up during the 2015 PINEMAP Annual meeting showing off the great new user-friendly updates to the TerraC interface, including the process for gaining permission to access data.  Please see the downloadable brochure below for details.

June 6, 2014: Carlos Gonzalez has been hard at work over the last few weeks to calculate net primary production for the PINEMAP Tier 1 network.  Net primary production (NPP) is one of the standard measurements of productivity for terrestrial ecosystems research.  These calculations should facilitate the analysis of productivity of planted pine across a wide range of soils, climate, and management conditions, and will be invaluable for the validation and verification of PINEMAP modeling efforts.  This dataset contains NPP estimates from 3018 plots from 469 study locations in the Tier 1 network.  Because many plots were measured multiple times, there are 10,971 individual estimates of NPP in the dataset.  As far as I know, this is the most comprehensive set of NPP data for loblolly pine (or any tree species?) ever assembled. The  document that describes the calculations and variables in the dataset is available below in the Tier I Metadata section.

March 3, 2014:
PINEMAP data templates are now finalized and available for use! Please click on the links below to download the Excel templates.

February 7, 2014:
Check out the newly developed THREDDS Gridded Data Server resources below.

June 2015 TerraC brochure PDF document
Brochure describing the process for accessing the TerraC database with details on how to create a login, gain permissions to access Tier I data, and the available data streams from Tiers I, II, III, climate, and soils. **MACA extractions to HUC 12 level for all PINEMAP Tiers are available**
Data Templates

Please use the Excel templates below to submit data for entry into the TerraC database. Please e-mail completed data files to Rosvel Bracho (rbracho@ufl.edu). Also, please e-mail Rosvel with any questions.

Gridded Data
Tier 1 Metadata

Metadata for the Tier 1 datasets is available on the PINEMAP intranet site.  The file lists all of the data structures submitted from the cooperatives along with some of the basic information you need to determine which data fits your projects.  To gain access to the tier 1 data you will need to fill a request form to authorize the use of the data. The tier 1 data will be made available to authorized users via TerraC shortly.

Tier 1 Metadata Disclaimer
The Tier 1 metadata in this spreadsheet reflects the original data submitted by the cooperatives.  The structure of the data has been altered to conform to standards in the distribution system utilized by the PINEMAP Project, TerraC.  All of the data submitted is offered in its entirety, but some columns have been renamed and some data has been reorganized to harmonize the tier 1 dataset.

PINEMAP Spatial Data Sharing Site

PINEMAP's spatial data sharing site has been set up to distribute large data sets to the PINEMAP community and currently holds both the PRISM data and the Idaho climate data. The site will also house the NARCCAP data as soon as it is available. To log in to the site, go to http://data.pinemap.org/ and click on the link under the password field that says "Create an Account". You will be guided through the process to get you logged in.

Tier III Inventory data

Stand-level data for Tier III plots.

For each measurement date, this dataset includes stand-level attributes as Age, Hdom, BA, VOL and Biomass. See metadata file for further details.

All parameters in metric units.
