The 2012 meeting, hosted by Larson & McGowin, will be held in Mobile, AL on December 5-6. There will be a field tour on Wednesday, December 5, to view research and operational activities in the Mobile area. We will report research results and conduct the business portion of the meeting on Thursday, December 6, at the 5 Rivers Delta Resource Center, Spanish Fort, AL near downtown Mobile (http://www.outdooralabama.com/outdoor-adventures/5rivers/contact.cfm).
For those flying to the meeting, close commercial airports include Mobile, AL and Pensacola, FL. A block of rooms is being held for us at the Courtyard Marriott Spanish Fort at a discounted per-night rate of $89. Reservations should be made by calling the Courtyard directly (888/720-1250) and identifying yourself with the FMRC in order to receive the special group rate. The group rate will be held for us until November 5.
Participants interested in the field tour should arrive Tuesday evening, December 4. The field tour will depart from the Courtyard Marriott lobby at 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday. We will host a hospitality room at the Courtyard in Ralph Amateis’ room from 8:00-10:00 p.m. on Wednesday evening. The Annual Meeting will convene at 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, December 6 at 5 Rivers.
