June 9, 2015: Khori Battle and Sabine Grunwald had a demonstration table set up during the 2015 PINEMAP Annual meeting showing off the great new user-friendly updates to the TerraC interface, including the process for gaining permission to access data. Please see the downloadable brochure below for details.
June 6, 2014: Carlos Gonzalez has been hard at work over the last few weeks to calculate net primary production for the PINEMAP Tier 1 network. Net primary production (NPP) is one of the standard measurements of productivity for terrestrial ecosystems research. These calculations should facilitate the analysis of productivity of planted pine across a wide range of soils, climate, and management conditions, and will be invaluable for the validation and verification of PINEMAP modeling efforts. This dataset contains NPP estimates from 3018 plots from 469 study locations in the Tier 1 network. Because many plots were measured multiple times, there are 10,971 individual estimates of NPP in the dataset. As far as I know, this is the most comprehensive set of NPP data for loblolly pine (or any tree species?) ever assembled. The document that describes the calculations and variables in the dataset is available below in the Tier I Metadata section.
March 3, 2014: PINEMAP data templates are now finalized and available for use! Please click on the links below to download the Excel templates.
February 7, 2014: Check out the newly developed THREDDS Gridded Data Server resources below.
